I am having real problems with my dog, he never likes my friends. Frequently tries to bite them when introduced. I agree with what you are saying, but give me some info.
I agree with you, but to continue, sometime When we introduce our friends to our dog, if the dog gets upset, we punish the dog when we should punish ourselves. If we would only follow the simple introductory rules of our dog to our friend we could eliminate quite a few accidents. Just let your dog introduce himself to your friends, as your friend stands naturally with their arms down, so your dog can sniff and smell, as scent is everything to your dog. Onced the sniffing introduction has been made, the friend should then let the dog lick their hand, always keeping your hand below your dogs head. As your dog relaxes and licks the friends hand they can then proceed to touch the dog, keeping the hand below the top of the head of the dog and never from a first meeting over your dogs body, using normal voice tone, not too high and squeaky or over enthusiastic. If your dog doesn’t seem to want to be touched at this time, just let your friend stand in front of the Dog, where they can see him, after a few meetings, they will begin to feel more comfortable that “Hey this person is’nt so bad”, and most likely will be happy to say hello, with a lick on the hand. But remember your dog is not always going to like all your friends.
Have a great day
