When bath time comes you must remember to use a shampoo and also a conditioner.  By using both helps remove the dirt and also prevent tangles that do happen often in long hair breeds.

Grooming tools that are used for dogs are brushes, combs, and rakes.  You will need these tools to detangle your dogs hair.  By having these tools will also help prevent super tangles in the future.

Brudhing your dogs hair removes dust, dead skin, loose hair, and also tangles.  By brushing your dog in the spring and fall helps them shed the extra coat.  Your groomer will use some special brushes when grooming your dogs hair .  The brushes that they use cover larger matted areas and they have sharper short bristles. 

Drying the dogs hair is a must after they have been groomed.  When having your dog groomed a hair drier is a necessity.  By drying the hair quickly prevents any mattes or tangles that can occur in wet hair.  Fur that is wet will tangle more easily then fur that is dry.

Having a good pair of scissors will help remove the hair around the eyes and in the ears.  There are some breeds of dogs that gets mattes around their eyes from discharge so keeping this area short will help prevent this from happening.
